Six Months Later Natalie Richards Books

Did you enjoy the movies 17 Again and 13 going on 30 ? The movies where you wake up and you are a different age and have no recollection of what has happened ? For me that's what the book Six Months Later by Natalie Richards reminded me of as the story starts with Chloe , struggling with her GPA and SAT scores heading to the library to study after saving her best friend Maggie from being teased. Then she falls asleep and when she wakes up it's six months later, six months have passed and she has no recollection of what has taken place or the events that have happened. When Chloe wakes up, she discovers that she is dating her school crush - Blake , somehow scored higher than she should have on the SATS and has feelings for Adam - a guy she had never previously spoken to and strangely she is no longer friends with Maggie . As the story goes along , we discover that something odd is happening and it has everything to do with Chloe's study group. When Chloe starts to feel her life in danger , who can she turn to ? Can Chloe convince Maggie to give her another chance ? Can she prove to her that the past six months have been a nasty blur ?
Find out in this awesome pyschological teen thriller "Six Months Later". This book reminded me of a cross between the books "The Raising" by Laura Kaisischke and "Red Leaves, The Girl in Times Square" by Paulina Simons.

Six Months Later Natalie Richards Books Reviews

The book was good enough to finish in a day but it was also pretty easy to guess what was going on. I was engaged and enjoyed the characters, though. All in all, worth the five stars and worth the read. Definitely a YA novel as the older of us will remember too much of a Katie Holmes movie in the plot....making it easy to replace the books characters with those from the movie.
"When Chloe fell asleep in study hall, it was the middle of May. When she wakes up, snow is one the ground and she can't remember the last six months of her life."
I was so excited to pick up this book! I mean the blurb above is intriguing, and the main character has my name! This book sucks you in from the beginning. It's full of twists and turns and you never know what to expect next! Overall this is a great, suspenseful read. I'd recommend it.
I found myself guessing to the very end in this page-turner. A girl falls asleep during study hall and wakes up six months later to find everything different and herself part of a conspiracy. The author makes the entire story great and spooky and all the characters magnificent. If you like this kind of story, you will like this well-written novel with good suspense and rich characters.
This is the best "new" author that I have read in a very long time. As an English major, I applaud her grammar and sentence structure. She is eloquent, yet on top of today's teenage culture. Can't wait for another and hope it is the sequel with Chloe
and Adam. Ms. Natalie is an excellent author and her ability to "bring you into the story" is a plus. I hope to see more of her
characters in the future. I love it, Ms. Natalie.

I chose this book mainly on the recommendations of others. I loved the book but I don't know how so many people claimed to have known the solution to the story way before the end of the book. I had no idea whatsoever. For that reason I gave it five stars because I kept reading very curious to see how each of the characters fit into the story line and who to trust and who not to.
Grade B

Chloe can't remember the past six months. She doesn't remember why her best friend isn't speaking to her or how she went from slacker to honor student. She certainly can't figure out how the most popular guy in school became her boyfriend. Something isn't right. Chloe senses she's being followed. Someone doesn't want her to remember, maybe more that one someone.

Natalie Richards created a likable, easy to sympathize with heroine in Chloe. She's scared, yet brave and very confused. More than anything she wants her best friend back. And answers. Adam, the guy helping her search for what happened is another great, multidimensional character. Many of the minor characters had unique stories. SIX MONTHS LATER is a real page turner. Richards did a great job weaving mystery, love story and thriller. The ending was the weakest part of the book, somewhat convoluted and fizzled to a yawn. An epilogue would have worked better.

Themes mystery, high school, friends, mental illness, trust

I think most readers will enjoy this novel and I'll definitely look for more Natalie Richards in the future.
I bought this book with high expectations. The story of a girl forgetting six entire months of her life - six months that apparently changed her from being a slacker on the fringe of the school's social scene to being a popular, straight A student - certainly sounds interesting. And I wasn't disappointed.
The mystery kept me wanting more, and I really liked Chloe's character. Her issues with anxiety and panic attacks made her more relatable than your average YA heroin. The thing that bothered me while reading the book, was Chloe's feelings for Adam. The whole "bad boy with a heart of gold" thing is very cliche, and sometimes her emotions regarding Adam seemed a little inappropriately timed considering what was going on. The fact that she only turned to two people to help her figure out what happened to her does leave you scratching your head though. The only other issue I had was that there was some cussing throughout the book, usually minor, but the S word was used fairly often. The main characters using the name of God as an exclamation I didn't appreciate either.
That being said, I did like Adam, and the mystery kept me guessing until the very end. It was a thrilling book, and longer than I thought it would be, which was wonderful. All in all, I loved it, and it is well worth the read.
