Let me state initially that I only read 24% of the book. It is not for me. I thought the plot was ludicrous, the pace tedious, and the characters equally inane. Apparently others disagree but I just couldn't read anymore of it.

Kept you interested throughout the entire book.
This book is brilliant like the other 2 books in the Blake saga! Really like "the cherry on the cake"! Never bored reading about this strange family. I would love to read more books by this author. Her imagination and the way she describes the 6th sense is amazing.
This is a strange and interesting read. I wasn't sure what was going to be in this one after reading the first one. But I was turning pages even if I wasn't quite sure where we were headed at times. I may reread this one again just to see if I missed anything.
Emma knows her husband best. While others.fight to keep them apart secrets surface and lies are confronted. Jake is made to look like a crazy killer but his childhood friend Samantha proves different. This action ,mystery will keep you on edge and your heart is a vice.
A brilliant psychological thriller, combining mystery and the paranormal while the protagonist makes amends for the hereditary sins of an aristocratic family. But not all can be mended and the past arrives seeking vengeance.

This is the first I have read in the series. I don't feel like I missed a beat by not having read the first two. But, I look forward to reading them as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed this third book in the Blake Series. I'd had a busy week and kept trying to get back to my , wanting to discover what lay ahead (as with the previous books). I loved the intensity and fast pace and was continually hoping that it was still possible for the main characters, who are so strong and believable to survive. I was able to pick the villain, but had to wait to the end of the novel to understand how and why!

Anyone who loves reading should do themselves a favor and get into this series. It's such a shame when the books end, because I would like to just keep on reading. Thank you Isabella for entertaining me. You must be a remarkable woman.
Impressive, thrilling, exciting. I haven't read anything from this author before. I've been conquered by the book description and... what a surprise!
The Black Mistake is WONDERFUL. I was IN the story. It never happened to me before that I could 'live' a book in such a deep way. I was with Ben and Jake all the time. I felt their feelings. I felt their fears. I had their same problems. I could not stop reading until the end. And I felt so bad after the last page. But then I discovered that there are others books in this series and I immediately went to buy them. Camilleri is a wonderful author, with a very bright future in front of her.
My review stops here... I have to immediately go back to start reading her again.
One of the things that amazed me the most about this book was the sheer number of twists that the author was able to pull off without me figuring out any of them. This book is very intense – a little dark for my tastes at times, but that's just me – and very well-written. The characters are multi-layered with a rich and fascinating family history. This is the third book in a series, but it's the only one I've read so far. I could tell that it was probably part of a series as I read it, but it works perfectly well as a standalone and wrapped up loose ends without annoying cliffhangers. Brilliant writing and a very entertaining read. Highly recommended!
